In Cavaillon, the mayor files a complaint after an unauthorized party in the heart of a city

In Cavaillon (Vaucluse), the mayor did not appreciate that a neighborhood party was organized without authorization in the heart of a city in his city during the weekend of July 14. He therefore filed a complaint for “endangering others” and “illegal occupation of public space”.

“Investigations are underway to determine who is at the origin of the payment for these activities”, explained this Thursday the prefect, Violaine Démaret, during a press point organized in the heart of the city of Dr Ayme, where these festivities had been organized, with an above-ground swimming pool, a trampoline, an inflatable castle, barbecues…

“A rumor evokes the fact that it would be the drug traffickers of the district, but it is not proven at this stage”, insisted the representative of the State, recalling that an investigation had been opened by the parquet floor of Avignon. A rumor relayed on the Twitter of the president of the Republicans, Éric Ciotti.

“We’re going to make sure it doesn’t happen again”

“I find that we have very inventive people, but honestly, I could do without them,” added the city’s LR mayor, Gérard Daudet, at his side. But “we are going to make sure that it does not happen again”, he continued, assuring that he would not oppose the organization of such events in the city, as long as it is “legally”. Social landlords have filed a complaint for the theft of water and electricity used for these facilities.

“The whole thing is that we know, who, how and why,” he insisted, referring in particular to the risks for children in a swimming pool without adequate safety measures and recalling the initiatives of his municipality for the children of this district of 2,000 inhabitants currently in the midst of restructuring.
