In Berg am Laim: Due to break-in: train traffic hindered – Munich

The building of the former federal monopoly administration for spirits on Neumarkter Straße in Berg am Laim has been more or less empty for years – mainly because the city and federal government cannot agree on a selling price. Now, at least for a few hours, a bit of life has returned to the old walls.

Shortly after 5 p.m. on Saturday, a resident reported that she had heard clinking glass coming from the building. Around 40 police officers responded to the alarm. They saw two people running away across the train tracks. The federal police were then called in and train traffic was throttled. But the escapees could not be caught.

In the building itself, the police found three men, 28, 19 and 16 years old. Despite their young age, all three already have a significant criminal record, primarily for drugs. They were reported for trespassing and property damage.
