Rolf and Ben Becker are in front of the camera together for the first time – for the series “In aller Freundlich”.

Like father, like son: Rolf (86) and Ben Becker (57) are both actors, but they have not yet been in front of the camera together. That is now changing in the MDR series “In All Friendship”: The two are currently shooting the episode “A Good Person”, as the broadcaster announced on Monday. While Rolf Becker has been seen as Otto Stein in the popular hospital series since 2006, his son Ben is making his debut on “All Friendship”.

“The first time together in front of the camera, that’s fun, of course,” says the 57-year-old. However, it is also “a bit strange” because the two know each other so well. “You can look at the cards a bit. That also increases the excitement a little, but otherwise it’s incredibly beautiful!” Rolf Becker, who will be 87 on March 31, explains: “It’s a birthday present. However, we were really just colleagues on the set, the family came after the end of the shoot.”

“In all friendship”: Rolf and Ben Becker appear as opponents

In the episode of “In All Friendship” the two are not related as in real life, but opponents: Ulrich Zweigert (Ben Becker) gains access to the Stein house as a police officer. He overwhelms Otto when he finds out about the burglar. Ulrich himself is not in good shape. Otto succeeds in freeing himself and now in turn hunts down Ulrich.

“A good person” (episode 987) is expected to be shown in September. The MDR series “In All Friendship” is about the staff of the fictitious Sachsenklinik in Leipzig and has been broadcast on the first channel since 1998.
