Study with Mendelian randomization
Dietary supplementation with low doses of vitamin D does not appear to protect against cardiovascular disease or reduce the risk of death, even with initially low levels of 25-hydroxy vitamin D (25[OH]D) in serum. That is the message of a current European study using the Mendelian randomization method.
