Imminent fine: why you shouldn’t use your garage as a workshop

Watch the video: There is a risk of fines – if you use your garage as a workshop or storage room, it can get really expensive.

Instead of storing motor vehicles, many people use their garage as a workshop or to store various items. What most people don’t know is that they risk a fine.
After all, garages are intended to relieve public traffic. For this reason, only registered vehicles may be parked in a garage. Official approval is required for permanent misappropriation. If there is damage, for example a fire, the insurance company may not pay because the garage was not operated properly. But what can really be in the garage? In addition to motor vehicles, accessories such as tires may also be stored. According to the owners’ association, objects such as bicycles, lawnmowers or the grill should not pose a problem as long as there is still enough space for a vehicle. Otherwise there is a risk of a fine. Depending on the federal state, this can amount to up to €500.
