IMF: Germany remains bottom of the class among industrialized countries – economy

Things are slowly starting to remind us of the old days, when we always knew exactly who would get the best and who would get the worst report card in the class on the morning of the last day of school. Top of the class: USA, bottom of the class: Germany – that has been the reliable result for some time now when the International Monetary Fund (IMF) presents its regular estimates of economic development in the major industrialized countries. This is also the case this time: In the latest global economic outlook, the IMF predicts an increase of 2.7 percent for the United States in 2024, while the Federal Republic of Germany has to prepare for a barely measurable increase of 0.2 percent. That is another 0.3 points less than the already gloomy forecast in January.
