Bad news for the Federal Republic: According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the German economy is shrinking this year even more than last predicted. The negative forecast is striking because Washington economists are more optimistic about almost the entire rest of the world than they were in April. The Germans, on the other hand, can only expect growth and thus more income next year.
