Ilkay Gündogan would like to see ex-national coach Joachim Löw in Turkey in the future and is excited about his next club.

National player Ilkay Gündogan has spoken out in favor of ex-national coach Joachim Löw getting involved in Turkey after there had been rumors in the past about a signature in the Süper Lig.

“Joachim Löw is a coach that the players like very much,” Gündogan explained in an interview with the Turkish pay-tv broadcaster Tivibu Spor. “His successes in the national team are well known anyway. He would fit in as a coach in Turkey.”

Joachim Löw was already a Fenerbahce coach

That’s why Gündogan, who played 49 international matches for Germany under Löw, “would like to see him there. But in the end he will have to make the decision. I’m also eagerly awaiting his next step.”

Löw had stopped as national coach after the mixed EM 2021 and has been without a new club since then. The 62-year-old had already worked as a coach for Fenerbahce and Adanaspor before joining the DFB in Turkey.
