No Ballermann star has achieved this before him!
Schlager singer Ikke Hipgold (47) can now adorn himself with a very special trophy: his new album catapulted to the top of the charts! Did the singer have a premonition? Because his new record is not only “number one”, it’s also called that!
And the success goes even further: It is the singer’s first album to ever make it into the charts!
“There’s the thing!” Ikke Hipgold writes on a photo Instagram, in which he proudly holds up the award for his number 1 album like Bolle. He reveals: His album is the “first number 1 album in German music history in the party hit genre.”
Relegated to number two and three on the album charts Ikke Hipgold Lord of the Lost, Germany’s ESC participant from 2023 – and none other than the Rolling Stones with their album “Hackney Diamonds”.
The singer, whose native name is Matthias Distel, says to his fans: “What began 15 years ago with a bet is reaching its climax today! Thanks to an incredible community, namely YOU out there!!!”
As befits a party king, Ikke Hipgold celebrated the award in a big way: with friends, colleagues, lots of gold tinsel, a cake and lots of balloons in the shape of the number one.
Seems like it is Ballerman-Schlager has finally arrived in the music Olympus. Ikke Hipgold is happy: “Looking forward to everything that comes next!”
