If the wedding takes place in the aquarium or in the Caribbean Sea

For many, summer isn’t just about vacation time. It is also the time of year when weddings often take place. For this special occasion, which heralds a new phase of life, bridal couples choose a place that they particularly like. Quite a few travel to a holiday destination to make the day unforgettable.

A fancy way for a wedding ceremony is under water. As strange as that may sound, this is possible in various places around the world. In the “Sunshine State” Florida, for example, there are several diving centers that offer a boat trip with a wedding ceremony on the seabed. Bridal couples will also find an underwater world with impressive diving spots on the Caribbean Sea in Cancún, Mexico. There is also an underwater museum in the region, in which various sculptures are exhibited.

There is also an underwater museum off the Greek island of Alonissos. The Mediterranean monk seal Monachus-Monachus also finds shelter in the adjacent National Marine Park, which the municipality says is the “largest natural marine park in the Mediterranean”.

Underwater wedding: The offer ranges from a near-natural aquarium to Bali

However, if you don’t want to travel so far away for the underwater wedding, you can also tie the knot underwater in this country. The water park in Rheinbach, North Rhine-Westphalia, offers a civil wedding in an indoor plunge pool. In Birmingham, England, you can experience a completely natural marine environment in a huge aquarium – in the company of blacktip reef sharks, rays and tropical fish, among other things. A wedding in the dry, but at the same time surrounded by water and tropical fish, is possible in “Sea Life” in Timmendorfer Strand.

If you want to get married at the other end of the world, the popular Indonesian holiday island of Bali offers the opportunity to do so. Here divers encounter a species-rich underwater world with turtles, exotic fish and reef sharks.
