Ice hockey – best prospects – sport

EHC Red Bull Munich achieved a very good starting position in the first leg of the first leg of the Champions Hockey League (CHL). At HC Friborg-Gottéron, second in the table in the Swiss elite league, coach Don Jackson’s team won 4: 2 (1: 1, 3: 0, 0: 1) and thus has excellent prospects of reaching the quarter-finals. Decisive for the away win in western Switzerland was the middle third, in which the Munich team moved away to 4-1 thanks to goals from Jonathon Blum (26th), Frederik Tiffels (36th) and Konrad Abeltshauser (39th). Tiffels, who with his row mates Trevor Parkes and Ben Street again ensured a lot of activity, scored for the sixth time in the current CHL season.

For Munich it was not only their first game after the eight-day international break, but also the first without Corona worries. With the exception of the injured Yannic Seidenberg, Maximilian Kastner and Bastian Eckl, head coach Jackson were all regular players in Switzerland. Almost a month ago, 16 EHC players were still in the officially ordered team quarantine due to a corona infection. In Switzerland, the EHC players looked lively and were not worried by Killian Mottets 0: 1 (9th). Attacker Justin Schütz (17th) made it 1-1 in the starting third.

The second leg of the round of 16 will take place in Munich on November 24th. Before that, the two derbies in the league against the Nürnberg Ice Tigers (next Friday, away) and against the Augsburg Panthers (Sunday, at home) are on the program for the EHC.
