The hot and beautiful summer days are beginning – and what would summer be without a refreshing ice cream?

Instead of going to the nearest ice cream shop, you can make a delicious ice cream at home with this simple and quick recipe.

All you need for this: bananas.

The advantage: This so-called nice cream is not only vegan, but also has no added sugar.

Bananas are also a real superfood – they contain vitamin B6, magnesium, potassium and manganese.

You can prepare the nice cream in different ways. Be it a fruity version with strawberries or the chocolatey version with cocoa – the ice cream can be adapted to your taste.

We show you three simple recipes for the refreshing ice cream alternative.

The basis for all recipes are frozen bananas. So the first thing you have to do is cut the bananas into pieces and then freeze them for several hours.

A little tip: it is better to use ripe bananas as they are sweeter and creamier.

Recipe One: Strawberry Nicecream

For the first recipe you will need two frozen bananas, 100g frozen strawberries and a squeeze of lemon juice.

Place the ingredients in a blender and puree until creamy.

The strawberry nice cream can then be served immediately.

Recipe Two: Chocolate Nicecream

For this variant you need an additional tablespoon of dark cocoa powder in addition to the two frozen bananas.

Again, both ingredients are put together in a blender and pureed. You can also add dates for a little extra sweetness.

A delicious peanut butter or Oreo biscuits are also suitable as a topping for the chocolate nice cream.

Recipe Three: Mango Coconut Nicecream

For the third recipe, you will need two bananas again, as well as 100g frozen mango pieces and 100g coconut chips or grated coconut.

Blend the ingredients together and enjoy immediately.

The nice cream should always be freshly prepared. Refreezing can destroy the taste and consistency.

If the pureeing does not work at first try, you can either add a dash of water or plant-based milk to the ingredients.

If you don’t like bananas, you can replace the fruit with other fruit like mangoes or berries.
