Huawei has updated the Watch GT2e with new functions. The Google Maps competitor Petal Maps is now finding its way onto the smartwatch.

the Huawei Watch GT2e is one of the manufacturer’s most popular smartwatches. A successor is said to be in development. Nonetheless Huawei has now released a new update for the smart watch, which brings useful improvements.

The new version of the firmware bears the designation 11.0.15.10 and is currently being distributed worldwide in several waves. If you haven’t received the update yet, it will be available to you in the near future.

What does the new update bring?

A report by Huawei blog according to the main part of the update is “Petal Maps”. With the Maps app, you can let your smartwatch navigate you and get directions straight to your wrist. In addition, the update includes improvements in sleep monitoring and improves system stability.

Currently this only works on Android without any problems, on iOS you cannot yet use Petal Maps together with the Watch GT2e.
