Having a hot, fresh meal delivered to your home, directly from the restaurants that you love, is so practical … But when you have an ecological sensitivity, what a disappointment to receive all this packaging, even when an effort has been made. made so that they are at least cardboard. Aware of this problem, heads of businesses in the Ile-de-France region have decided to set up “zero waste” solutions. The barePack subscription
It is not obvious, but if you use the Deliveroo app, there is an option that allows you to consume zero waste. It works with a subscription of 2 euros per month, which is activated via the barePack application and allows the use of up to five reusable containers. Then, once on Deliveroo, you must go to the top right of the application, in the filters, for the “barePack” category, and the restaurants which offer this solution and which are available in your area will be displayed. You order, you enter the code generated by the app at the time of ordering, then later you drop the instructions at a partner restaurant near you, without time limit as long as you are a subscriber. About sixty restaurants participate in barePack, which is also available on the Eatic app. “The locker has been around for a long time, we didn’t invent it, we just tried to simplify its access,” comments Nicolas Piffeteau, head of barePack.

Ecology enthusiasts are no doubt familiar with the Eatic application, which offers vegetarian or vegan dishes delivered by restaurants that have signed an ethical charter. By browsing the categories (popular, vegan only, veggie…), we come across a “zero waste” tab, which gives access to restaurants that work with the barePack or Milubo solution which is a more classic deposit system. We add to the price of his dish that of the deposit (3.50 euros for a main course, 1 euro for a goblet). You must then bring back, within an unlimited time, the dish consigned to one of the partner restaurants near you. Note that the system also works directly with certain restaurateurs (the Spok network, Land & Monkeys bakeries)
Restaurants that use their own system
To order in these zero waste restaurants, you will have to be a whole group. To plan therefore rather for your meals with colleagues or your parties with friends. Les Marmites volantes offer to deliver and pick up the containers in the afternoon, from four people, for 52 euros for vegetarian or 62 euros for meat. Add to that 12 euros delivery costs: if you are more than four people, it is therefore more economical! “We have reusable waste at the margin: paper napkins or kraft paper but we are working on it”, explains Juliette Honoré, development manager of the restaurant. Mr. Ticicote and Ripayon also offer similar solutions, from five to six people.
The GreenGo instruction
Most restaurants that offer zero waste delivery also do so. If you live in the 10th arrondissement, around rue des Petites Écuries, you will appreciate La Consigne GreenGo, which works with an app. Thirty restaurants are already partners, and fifty will be by September, promises Iris Konrad, communication manager of the company. Be careful here to bring back the container within 14 days, otherwise it will be charged 10 euros, but the advantage is that you have nothing to pay at the start! Note that La Consigne GreenGo will soon also be available via Eatic for delivery.
