How Losc intends to develop women’s football through amateur clubs

At the time of Euro football, the city of Lille is active to encourage the players of tomorrow. The town hall has announced the creation of a “Partner Club” label with the women’s section of Losc. Three clubs, ES Fives Louvière Pellevoisin, OS Fives and Lille Moulins Carrel, have signed this agreement with the D2 team.

The Women’s Losc is committed to clubs in Lille’s neighborhoods so that they invest even more in the practice of women’s football. A “date in the development of women’s football in Lille”, while the number of licensees in France continues to increase, with 200,000 practitioners in 2020.

A partnership with multiple actors

Cedrick Hamel, women’s football referent for the Lille Moulin Carrel club, explains that this partnership “was born out of the will of the municipal team, which knew how to listen to the ideas that were presented to them”. Patrick Robert, president of the Women’s Losc, specifies that “this project had already been presented to the mayor before the pandemic”.

The Women’s Losc is committed to “human and material support, with an annual meeting to take stock of the partnership”, develops the president of the professional club. To be eligible for this label, the clubs, already partners of Losc, had to be located in the municipality and have a women’s section. “We are also thinking of the Bois-Blanc and Wazemmes team for the clubs to come,” says Patrick Robert.

Develop the supervision of women’s football

Partner clubs will be able to develop the supervision of their sections with the help of Losc. “We are going to relocate training, have technical exchanges with educators,” explains Patrick Robert. A meeting will take place at the start of the school year: clubs can invite the president of Losc, the referent technician and several educators to the start of the season meeting in Villeneuve d’Ascq.

This partnership is an opportunity to allow coaches and players to progress. Club educators will be able to participate in D2 women’s group training. As for the players, “at Lille Moulin Carrel, we will be able to supervise the U9s, thanks to additional training, just between girls, with the Losc educator. It is a chance for them. Each club has a specific objective for its women’s section. With us, it means having quality supervision for the little ones. “

The opportunity to offer more female encounters

This label is also an encouragement to increase the number of female meetings, so that the players can measure themselves against their counterparts from Losc, and to democratize access to female football. “It is an encouragement to the development of women’s football in Lille, which has a future! With us, we went from 0 to 20 seniors in three years, and from 2 to 15 players in U6 / U9, ”says Cédrick Hamel.

To complete this partnership, the International U19 Women’s Tournament in the city of Lille could come to life in the capital of Flanders “in 2022 if all goes well”, hopes Patrick Robert. And thanks to the label, partner clubs will not only be able to play, but also get involved in the organization of the event.
