Fifteen years after this murder, a suspect was placed in police custody and imprisoned, indicated the Nanterre prosecutor’s office, where this case had been transmitted to the national “cold cases” center.

Arrested Tuesday in Toulouse, the 34-year-old man was presented Saturday afternoon to an investigating judge from this center dedicated to unresolved cases and “kept silent” during his first appearance interrogation, the prosecution said. in a press release. He was 18 years old at the time of the events.

According to the prosecution, it was “a new exploitation of the seals” which “allowed the identification of a genetic profile on the car key” of the victim, aged 45, detailed the prosecution. An identification made possible by “the technical progress made in the extraction of traces and prints on previously unusable surfaces”, added the prosecution. “This led to the identification of a man aged 18 and present in the area at the time of the incident,” according to the same source.
