Everyone is for climate protection, but the others should always pay. You might think so if you consider the recent dispute over energy consumption in homes. As is well known, there has been a CO2 tax on petrol, diesel, heating oil and gas since January, and this also makes rent more expensive. Originally, tenants and landlords were supposed to share these costs, but following opposition from the Union parliamentary group, the government left the tax to the tenants alone. After all, landlords have no influence on how much the residents heat their rooms, according to politicians and interest groups.
