The “House of Money” may soon close its doors forever. But the stealing is still going on – thanks to Berlin.

The professor’s coup ends on December 3rd. Then the final five episodes of the fifth season of the Spanish series “House of Money” appear on the streaming service Netflix. However, fans around the world will not have to say goodbye to the heist universe of creator Alex Pina (54). Because as has now been announced via Twitter, a member of the robber gang will get his own spin-off from 2023: jewel thief Andrés de Fonollosa alias Berlin.

This is remarkable in several ways: The character played by Pedro Alonso (50) is considered highly controversial and repeatedly caused a stir with sexist and racist statements. Or, as the forensic psychiatry series said about Berlin: “He lacks any kind of empathy. An eccentric with a tendency towards megalomania, which prevents him from distinguishing between good and bad.” And robbery complicit Tokyo (Úrsula Corberó, 32) immediately referred to him as a “shark – you can swim with him, but you always stay nervous”.

Warning, spoilers

There is another reason why Berlin’s return is surprising: At the end of the second season, he was killed in a hail of bullets from the police. However, this does not prevent him from appearing in all subsequent seasons. In flashbacks, his character was shown over and over again.

The fans will find out even more about the criminal’s history from 2023 onwards in the spin-off that takes place before the events of “House of Money”. So Berlin will not rise from the dead.

“House of Won”

It has long been known that there will be a South Korean remake of “House of Money”. The figure Berlin will also appear in it, portrayed by a newly minted world star: Park Hae-soo (40) tried to win millions and millions as “Player 2018” in the Netflix hit “Squid Game”. In the remake announced for 2022, he will tackle this endeavor again.
