Hospitals and war: How resilient is the healthcare system?

During the war, Germany’s hospitals would have to care for NATO soldiers and refugees. They are at the limit. Doctors and military personnel play through scenarios in Berlin.

The video shows gruesome scenes: corpses lying on a country road. A dead person without a head, shoulders, arms. A carcass burned beyond recognition. A young man in a T-shirt and shorts lies on the ground, surrounded by terrorists, pleading for his life. The images are accompanied by dark music. They should have an impact on German viewers. That’s why Israeli brigadier general and trauma surgeon Elon Glassberg brought her with him.

This morning in Berlin he is showing it to a large audience – doctors, members of the Bundeswehr medical service, health managers. Many here have seen or treated patients with the worst injuries themselves, but when the short film is over there is silence. Some faces reflect horror.
