Hospitalizations up 25% in three weeks in France



The number of hospitalized Covid patients continues to increase in France. This Sunday, nearly 8,700 patients were listed, marking a 25% increase in hospitalizations in three weeks,
according to figures published by Public Health France.

With 498 new admissions in 24 hours, hospitals welcomed 8,685 patients on Sunday, against 6,922 on July 17, when the lowest level of hospitalizations had been recorded since the start of the year.

Serious patients on the rise

With 1,556 patients registered in critical care services, the number of Covid patients in serious condition has skyrocketed (+ 81%) since July 21, when this number was the lowest (859) since the start of the year. In the past 24 hours, 117 patients have been admitted to intensive care.

Between Saturday and Sunday, 30 people died from the Covid in hospital, according to the health agency. On the vaccination side, 44,739,322 people have received at least one injection (i.e. 66.4% of the total population) and 37,231,075 people now have a complete vaccination schedule (i.e. 55.2% of the total population) since the start of the campaign, said the Directorate General of Health.
