Homeless man jailed for murdering another homeless man in a squat



His body was found lifeless on July 8 in an abandoned building in Saint-Brieuc (Côtes-d’Armor). Two weeks after the murder of a 55-year-old homeless man, the investigation led to the apprehension of a suspect. Another homeless man, aged 27, was arrested in the middle of last week, revealed on Tuesday
West France.

During his police custody, the man confessed to having killed the victim who frequented the same squat as him, however delivering confused explanations. A story of theft having gone wrong could be at the origin of the tragedy, indicates the public prosecutor, specifying that the young man suffering from psychiatric disorders was placed in pre-trial detention in a medical unit of the prison of Rennes after his indictment.

Cervical rupture

The autopsy revealed that the homeless man died of a ruptured neck after being asphyxiated. But again, the suspect failed to explain what exactly happened. The investigation continues to better understand the circumstances of the tragedy.
