The Oscar nominations were announced on Tuesday. “Barbie” director Greta Gerwig and leading actress Margot Robbie were not nominated – to the disappointment of Ryan Gosling.

“Barbie” actors Ryan Gosling has expressed his disappointment that director Greta Gerwig (40) and actress colleague Margot Robbie (33) were not nominated for an Oscar. “There is no Ken without Barbie, and there is no Barbie film without Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie,” the 43-year-old was quoted by the portals “Variety” and “People” after the nominations were announced.

“To say I’m disappointed that they aren’t nominated in their respective categories would be an understatement,” Gosling continued. He himself is nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Ken.

The Oscar nominations for the 96th Academy Awards were announced on Tuesday. The box office hit “Barbie” received a total of eight nominations. However, Gerwig did not receive a nomination in the Best Director category and Robbie, who plays the plastic doll Barbie in the film, is not among the nominees in the Best Actress category. The German actress Sandra Hülser, among others, is nominated there.
