Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn: photo group presents exhibition – district of Munich

Compared to the virtue of “networking”, which is excessively cultivated in the digital age, the term “connection” has an even deeper meaning. Whether emotional or traffic-related, whether visible or invisible – connection usually corresponds to a profound, sometimes existential responsibility. Where would you know that better than in Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn? The two districts have been closely connected communally since 1978 and in 1985 the nominal merger was added, which gave the community one of the longest place names in Germany.

In its current exhibition, the photo group Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn is now presenting works that deal with the topic of “connectedness” in a wide variety of ways. “Starting with chemical compounds via train, bus and flight connections, there are also the student associations of the fraternities or connecting words in rhymes or speeches,” writes photo circle spokesman Reinald Rode in the announcement. “But the connections that can be interesting for a photographer are in other areas. There are screw or wooden connections, also electricity and land connections via bridges, masts and dikes, but also, in a figurative sense, the emotional one connecting families and spouses.” A particularly moving eye-catcher in this sense is the picture “Sorglos” by Heinz Seifert, which not only impresses visually, but also triggers all sorts of associations with the child dozing in essential security on the mother’s back.

The exhibition can be seen from January 4th on the ground floor of the town hall in Höhenkirchen, the works will be hanging there until the end of March 2023. “The viewers will be surprised at the special results that have come out,” states Rode. The images can also be viewed online at “fotokreis.hksi.de” to be looked at.
