Hof: Twelve years in prison for attempted murder of probation officer – Bavaria

The Hof regional court sentenced a man to twelve years in prison for attempted murder, taking hostages and repeatedly raping a probation officer. It also ordered him to be placed in a psychiatric hospital, a court spokesman said on Wednesday.

In the court’s opinion, the defendant was a danger to the public due to a severe personality disorder. He will only be allowed to leave the psychiatric hospital when he is no longer a danger.

According to the spokesman, the 35-year-old at the time of the crime had fully admitted the allegations in court. Accordingly, he obtained the address of his former probation officer via the Darknet. According to the court, last May he rang the woman’s doorbell, overpowered her, held her in her apartment for hours and raped her several times. Finally he decided to kill the woman. But she fought back violently.

The defendant fell, dislocated his kneecap and remained motionless, said the court spokesman. The woman was then able to escape from the apartment.

The verdict is not yet legally binding. According to the court spokesman, the public prosecutor’s office and defense have already announced that they will forego legal recourse. The co-plaintiff, who represents the victim, has not yet commented on this.
