The Bayterek Tower towers in the heart of the city of Nur-Sultan, which for a few years has borne the first name of the “leader of the nation” Nursultan Nazarbayev. British architect Norman Foster designed the 97 meter high urban it-piece based on the Kazakh legend. After that, the Samruk bird laid a golden egg in the crown of the Bajterek tree of life every day, but at night the egg was eaten by a dragon until, yes, until the Kazakhs went out to kill the dragon and the shining light of the Samruk egg itself poured into the vastness of the Kazakh steppe.
