In just a few days, Volker Bouffier will no longer be Prime Minister of Hesse. He quits voluntarily. Looking back, he talks about Laschet’s candidacy for chancellor, the assassination in Hanau – and the murder of Walter Lübcke, who was his friend.

Monday afternoon, his presumably last week as prime minister has begun. Volker Bouffier enters the Brothers Grimm Hall of the Hessian State Chancellery in Wiesbaden, takes a seat in the red armchair, with the busts of the two poets behind him to the left and right. He will leave office next Tuesday. At least that’s the plan.
