Helmstedt. “Let Communities Lead” – that is the international motto of World AIDS Day in 2023. It is intended as a reminder that effective HIV prevention and working with people who are living with it Living with HIV can only succeed in collaboration with their communities. World AIDS Day has taken place on December 1st every year for more than 30 years. All people are called upon to live together without prejudice and exclusion, because those affected still experience exclusion and stigmatization, explains the district. The aim is to raise awareness of how important it is to live together without prejudice and exclusion – the demand for respect and acceptance is therefore the top priority.
As every year, the Gifhorn district health department, together with Aids-Hilfe Wolfsburg e. V. this concern. In the entrance area of the Gifhorn Health Department, Allerstraße 21, a wealth of information on the topics of education, transmission and support will be available on December 1st from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. There are also other small items available to take home on the theme of World AIDS Day.
Donate through AIDS teddy bears
In addition, AIDS teddy bears can be purchased at the health department from November 29, 2023 to December 8, 2023 for a donation of 6 euros or more. The proceeds from the sale of the teddy bears go to Aids-Hilfe Wolfsburg e. v.
