Helldivers 2 is having a mega launch on Steam, with a higher player base than all other PlayStation PC ports combined.

The title reached 333,827 concurrent PC players on Saturday, according to SteamDB. The peak number of all other PlayStation titles combined is 300,359. Helldivers 2 previously became the biggest PlayStation Studios launch on Steam, surpassing the concurrent player peak of God of War of 73,000 in just a single day. The shooter has now exceeded its own player peaks almost every day since launch and enjoys an all-time peak of 388,754 players. These updated numbers put the game ahead of smash hits like GTA 5 and Monster Hunter World. But this also leads to technical issues, the servers regularly crash!

Helldivers 2 has also achieved the largest PC player peak for a PlayStation-owned game and Destiny 2 is now in second place with 316,000 players at its peak. Xbox’s biggest launch on its own platform – Starfield with an impressive 330,000 – was also trumped. Developer Arrowhead is “struggling to keep up with such overwhelming demand” and recently had to cap the player cap at 450,000 to cope with a surge in players. Following in the big footsteps of Palworld, the studio is embarking on a massive hiring spree to respond to the game’s unexpected mega-success.
