Despite server problems, Helldivers 2 reaches the next player peak. Last weekend, 409,367 players gathered at the same time to fight for democracy in space. This is a new record for the popular shooter and catapults the title several places higher on the Steam charts.
The Helldivers army is growing
Due to the recent onslaught, Helldivers 2 places itself in the Steam charts-List of titles with the most concurrent players ever on Steam at number 23, now ahead of Destiny 2 and even GTA V.
Helldivers 2 shows potential in the test
We’ve previously reported that Helldivers 2 was Sony’s most popular PC launch, even surpassing God of War in terms of player numbers. After this weekend we can say that Helldivers 2 had more concurrent players than all other titles published by Sony combined.

This is despite the fact that developer Arrowhead had to set a cap on concurrent players due to server problems. A maximum of 450,000 Helldivers were able to log in over the weekend to ensure largely stable servers.
