A 14-year-old teenager shot a cat in the head, after borrowing his father’s rifle, before using the animal’s remains as a balloon. The events occurred in Bessège, in the Cévennes. He sent the video to an acquaintance who shared it on social media.
Quickly found, he appeared this Monday before the criminal court of Alès, in Gard. He was sentenced to six months of educational measures: he will have to work for animal welfare, possibly in an animal shelter.
His parents were also fined 1,000 euros and he himself was fined 500 euros.
