For four years, a 40-year-old lied to doctors about his state of health, to be prescribed morphine which he finally gave to his suffering partner, report The Latest News from Alsace. They were judged Thursday by the correctional court of Saverne (Bas-Rhin). In total, the man, a former soldier, was prescribed 23,000 vials of morphine from dozens of doctors throughout the department and sometimes well beyond. The defendant claimed an accident at work and limped, explained suffering from the back.
For fraud at the National Military Fund of Social Security, he received a six-month suspended prison sentence and his ex-companion four months for concealment of property resulting from a fraud. They will also have to pay 3,200 euros to the military fund.
