His neighbour’s cat was prowling his yard and teasing his two dogs, so he simply shot it dead. The Midi Dispatch recounts this cruel scene which occurred on Thursday April 20, at the beginning of the afternoon, in Lavelanet-de-Commingesa village located about fifty kilometers south-west of Toulouse.
The detonation worried the residents and the gendarmes went up at the end of the afternoon to a 19-year-old man, tenant of a small house in the sector. The day after the death of the cat, the author of the shooting was sentenced in immediate appearance to four months in prison suspended, a fine of 1,800 euros and a ban on owning animals.
But he is not done with justice. The regional daily specifies that the search carried out at his home led to the discovery of an astonishing military arsenal: around forty firearms, including “a rifle with a telescopic sight and a shotgun”. A second investigation was opened into the source of these firearms.
