Harry Kane misses England game against Brazil injured

The English national team faces Brazil in a tough test. Star striker Harry Kane will only be able to watch the game from the stands.

FC Bayern striker Harry Kane could return from his international trip with the English national team without playing a minute. Coach Gareth Southgate ruled out the striker’s use in the tough test against Brazil on Saturday.

Kane is also “extremely questionable” for next Tuesday’s game against Belgium, which will also take place at London’s Wembley Stadium. The 30-year-old had already arrived with ankle problems.

“No Harry Kane, no Jordan Henderson, no Cole Palmer,” said Southgate on Friday, referring to the duel with Brazil. Henderson (Ajax Amsterdam) and Palmer (Chelsea) are also injured but, according to Southgate, have “a better chance for the Belgium game than Harry.” Kane suffered an unspecified injury to his ankle in the Bundesliga game against Darmstadt 98 (5-2) last weekend and had to be substituted.
