Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan appeared on the red carpet in New York in glamorous outfits. The two royals beamed, but they had every reason to be angry. Guilt is a legal battle in the UK.

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have not been seen so glamorous for a long time: At the “Salute to Freedom” gala in New York, which was held in honor of war veterans, the couple shone on the red carpet. The Duchess wore a striking red dress from the designer brand Carolina Herrera with a train and high leg, Harry came in a tuxedo. The royals drew so much attention, but other things made headlines in their old homeland of Great Britain.

There Meghan had to apologize during an appeal process. In a letter to a London court, the Duchess “forgot” that she had authorized an employee to provide information about her life to the authors of the book “Finding Freedom”. So far it has been said that the couple had nothing to do with the scandal biography. But Jason Knauf, the former private secretary of Harry and Meghan, now testified in court that the book was “routinely discussed”, personally and via email with Meghan. Harry is also said to have known about it and encouraged Knauf to provide the authors with inside information so that the context could be correctly presented. You had neither the desire nor the intention to mislead the court, so Meghan now.

Meghan is said to have known that her father is giving the letter to the press

The background is a legal dispute with the publisher of the tabloids “Mail on Sunday” and “Daily Mail”. Meghan had sued the newspapers for invasion of privacy after they made a letter to her father partially public. The court agreed, but the publisher has now appealed. In particular, Jason Knauf’s testimony could now harm Harry and Meghan. He testified that Meghan had written the letter to her father knowing that it could be published. In a text message to Knauf, she even talked about starting the letter with “Daddy” so that it would touch people’s hearts if her father gave it to the press.

The hearings in the appeal process are scheduled until Thursday. But none of this was felt on the red carpet in New York. Meghan and Harry just smiled away at the lawsuit.
