Hanover Theater: “Goethe’s Faust, but with different text and also a different melody” – Culture

It begins, as always, with Clemens Sienknecht’s adult education courses on “classics”, “but with different text and also a different melody”. Using a loop box, the mischievous music teacher samples the individual parts of a famous song and then sings it – with the right lyrics and the right melody. This time Sienknecht opens with “There there” by Radiohead and the refrain “Just ’cause you feel it, doesn’t mean it’s there”. And over the course of the evening this becomes a little therapy wisdom about “repetition”.
