Hannover 96: folders cover banners in second division game | Sports

Strange scenes in Hanover – and that even before kick-off.

At 2:2 against Karlsruhe are the 96-Fans are probably not in a good mood before the game starts. Because: The supporters actually want to present a banner in the curve – and are suddenly disturbed by stewards.

Problem solved: The poster is held higher.

What exactly happened?

The curve presents a poster with the words: “The fact remains: No to investors in the DFL.”

Background: On Monday the DFL will vote on investors and the 96 club is more divided than almost any other. While professional managing director and majority shareholder Martin Kind (79) is clearly in favor of investors joining and has been calling for the abolition of the 50+1 rule for a long time, the eV is clearly against it.

The fans want to use the banner to express their opinions – and are initially prevented from doing so by the stewards.

Because they deliberately place themselves in front of the poster, thus covering the lettering.

The result: The banner is simply held up so that it remains clearly visible despite the folder wall.

What a strange process…

About the game: Before the game, 96 coach Stefan Leitl (46) announced “We want to say goodbye to our fans properly” – that at least works halfway on the pitch.

At first everything looks like the next 96 bankruptcy. Superstar Marcel Halstenberg unluckily hits his own goal after a KSC cross to make it 0-1 (11th), then Lars Stindl increases it for the guests from Karlsruhe to make it 2-0 (53rd).

But then Lower Saxony caught up!

Andreas Voglsammer initially revives the hosts (72nd), before Sei Muroya equalizes in the last home game of the year. The 96 professional dusts off after a header from Voglsammer in the last minute (90th) – 2:2.
