Power failure at Hamburg Airport: There the planes stayed on the ground for an hour and a half on Saturday morning. The runway lighting was also down.

Due to a power failure in the tower, no planes could land or take off at Hamburg Airport for around an hour and a half on Saturday morning. Due to the technical malfunction, the runway lighting also failed, said an airport spokeswoman.

Because safe air traffic was not possible in this way, operations were discontinued. Individual flights were canceled or diverted to other airports such as Hanover and Bremen, the spokeswoman said.
