6:35 a.m.: An American strike in northern Iraq
On Sunday, the United States announced that it had carried out a “self-defense strike against an imminent threat” in northern Iraq. Five fighters from a pro-Iran armed group, a country supporting Hamas, were killed Sunday evening in the province of Kirkuk (north) by a bombing, according to a security source.
This strike comes the day after a warning sent by the Iraqi government to the United States against any “attack” on its territory, even if for their part pro-Iran groups have resumed rocket fire and drone strikes against American troops stationed in Iraq and Syria.
