Hallelujah, the government announces the end of gauges in stadiums from February 2

Good news is rare enough these days to take advantage of it when there is one that falls right into our mouths. In a new government announcement on Thursday evening, Jean Castex endorsed the end of gauges in sports arenas from February 2 due to the next (hoped for) decline in the Omicron variant. Spectators must, however, continue to wear the mask during the matches.

“As of Wednesday February 2, all facilities, in particular sports and cultural facilities, which accommodate seated public, will be able to return to full capacity operation, without gauge, provided that they respect the wearing of a mask”, declared the Prime Minister. This news should particularly delight the PSG team, which will be able to face Real Madrid in a packed Parc des Princes on February 15, in the knockout stages of the Champions League.
