Hair – Actors explain about con artists – district of Munich

Again and again there are seniors in the Haar police station who have received an alleged shock message over the phone or have even handed over a large sum of money to a complete stranger. Tricksters often get to their destination in the district of Munich. To ensure that this doesn’t happen again in the future, the police have a prevention play in their programme, especially for the older generation. And that’s coming to the Small Theater in Haar on Friday, January 6th, according to a message from the town hall. Start is at 2 p.m.

The phone rings, a distraught girl cries into the receiver, implores the alleged grandfather to give her money because she’s in big trouble. Or the attractive man on the dating portal for the older generation suddenly has acute financial difficulties after many compliments and love exchanges. The scams often sound transparent and the victims are ashamed of having fallen for such tricks, in addition to their financial loss.

But the criminals put their victims in emotional states of emergency. Then the door and gate are open for shock calls, love scamming, fake police officers, craftsmen or the grandchild trick. That the head does not hide all reason can be trained. That’s what makes the play “Grüß Gott, nice that you’re here!” of the Replay Theater, which is engaged by the Munich Security Forum Association and the Munich Police Headquarters. The theater has once again received the EU’s “European Crime Prevention Award”.

The theater educators present the methods used by con artists. Volunteers are integrated into the game and can experience first-hand how sneaky the criminals are. Afterwards, over coffee and cake, the spectators have the opportunity to obtain information from the police about prevention options. The Security Forum finances the event. If you would like to take part free of charge, register with the Munich Police Headquarters on 089/29 10 36 99.
