Haar near Munich – New day clinic for post-Covid – Munich district

The Isar-Amper-Klinikum (IAK) in Haar is still preparing for patients who suffer from the long-term psychological consequences of an infection with the coronavirus. A post-Covid day clinic has started operations on the IAK site. This is a response to the increasing therapeutic needs of patients who have been diagnosed with post-Covid syndrome. It is therefore about patients whose symptoms last longer than twelve weeks after a Covid 19 disease. In addition, it is assumed that the need for treatment exceeds outpatient help. If this applies to you, you can register for treatment immediately.

According to its own statements, the specialist clinic for psychiatry, psychotherapy, psychosomatics and neurology in Haar has treated hundreds of patients with Covid 19 infections since the beginning of the pandemic in spring 2020. More and more people were also suffering from the long-term consequences of the disease and needed specific medical and therapeutic support and help for this new disease. A post-Covid outpatient clinic was opened in July 2021. Now the day clinic is added.

This is located in the Department of Neurology. Registration takes place with the help of a telephone or online-supported screening. At the beginning of the day clinic treatment, an initial consultation with a doctor, a consultation with a physical therapist and a neuropsychologist or psychologist is planned. If necessary, further medical clarification can be carried out. According to the IAK, the focus of treatment is a neurological-psychiatric approach with neuro-psychological diagnostics and therapy, resource and activity development, symptomatic therapy of individual symptoms or alleviation of symptoms.

“The corona virus presents us all with a multitude of challenges,” says chief physician Martin Marziniak. “And now we are seeing more and more that the long-term consequences in particular can be extremely distressing. The symptoms not only have physical effects, but also psycho-social ones.” Registrations are accepted by e-mail to [email protected], telephone 089/4562-3707, Monday 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and Thursday 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. More information at www.kbo-iak.de.
