Used disposable syringes lying between rubbish in a light well: the image that emerges fits the disturbing message that worries Haar. Drug addicts should shoot themselves in the middle of town, in the underground car park at the Poststadel training center. In any case, Mayor Andreas Bukowski (CSU) is firmly assuming, as he said on Tuesday evening in the municipal council. Unlike with hard drugs, the injections cannot be explained. He speaks of young adults who can be found there. According to him, the police have been informed. She is reticent. “We currently have no findings,” says Alexander André from the local inspection.
On Wednesday morning, the syringes that had been publicly discussed in the municipal council the night before were still there; in the afternoon they were gone. Traudl father (SPD) had brought the topic to the agenda with a request because she had heard about the injections and, as she said, was worried. Mayor Bukowski then even spoke of heroin, which he softened on the phone the next day. That is not guaranteed. But the case is still clear.

The community has therefore taken the first steps. The underground car park is to be closed shortly after 8.30 p.m. so that no one can stay there without authorisation. Video surveillance is also being prepared. A drug scene will not be tolerated in Haar, according to the mayor, who emphasizes the otherwise good security situation in the area and the prevention work in the youth centers.
Alexander André from the local police station doesn’t want to know anything about a drug hotspot in Haar. Drug advisor Andreas Ammer, who offers consultation hours for Caritas in Haar, warns against playing down addiction to hard drugs. Cannabis, alcohol and gambling addiction are underestimated.

Still, it shocks the community when heroin is associated with a place previously known only as a youth hangout. According to their own statements, the police have been visiting the garage more often since the corona pandemic to punish possible violations of conditions. Before the pandemic, the Haar boys had organized disco parties in the underground car park. In between there was a corona test station.
Neither Haar nor any other place in the district made it into the security report of the Munich police headquarters in connection with drugs. At most, Sendlinger-Tor-Platz in Munich, Nussbaumpark and Munich Central Station appear there. According to the 2020 report, what is striking is that in the first year of the pandemic, with a generally registered decrease in crime, the decrease in the district was less pronounced than in the city. And crimes involving heroin and cocaine have even increased sharply, albeit at a low level: from three to 11 cases for heroin and from two to as many as 28 for cocaine. However, if the suspected scene in the underground car park is confirmed, this could further increase the rate in the district.
The figures given by the police – the report for 2021 is not yet available – are of course only of limited significance. They only show the cases that are discovered. Representatives of addiction help speak of a high number of unreported cases. Prevention is important in schools and even in infancy, says Regina Casci-Haas from the addiction prevention department in the district office. Arbeiterwohlfahrt, Caritas and Blaues Kreuz offer good contact points for advice and addiction help in the district. The Blue Cross recently expanded its services in Haar for young people with a self-help group in the “Route 66” youth club. Caritas is expanding its addiction counseling service in the Caritas center at Jagdfeldring 17. There is now always open consultation hours on Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Appointments are available by arrangement – less than 300 meters from said underground car park.
