Haar near Munich: an interview with a lifeguard – district of Munich

Saving people from drowning. That is the declared goal of the German Life Saving Society (DLRG) – the largest private water sports organization in the world. It was founded in 1913. The Haar local branch hasn’t existed that long, but at least it’s celebrating its 60th anniversary on Saturday, July 16, at the Haar outdoor pool. In addition to life-saving exercises in and around the water, lots of fun and games for the whole family should be guaranteed. The SZ spoke to the chairman of the Haarer DLRG, Christian Ludwig, about whether lifeguards are superheroes and why the seahorse badge does not guarantee the ability to swim.
