The Günter Rohrbach Film Prize 2021 goes to the film “Fabian or The Walk to the Dogs”. The prize has been awarded by the Günter Rohrbach Film Prize Foundation in cooperation with the City of Neunkrichen for eleven years and is endowed with 10,000 euros. The winners are “Fabian” director Dominik Graf and his producer Felix von Boehm. The actors Tom Schilling and Saskia Rosdendahl received actor awards for the Erich Kästner film adaptation. It tells of the trials and tribulations of the writer Fabian in the end times of the Weimar Republic in a world of decadence and economic and political decline.

Also on Friday evening in Neunkrichen were the actress Maria Hofstätter and the director Arman T. Riahi for their film “Fuchs im Bau”. The jury of winners in 2021 consisted of the actor Ulrich Matthes, the actress Franziska Weisz and the producer Uli Aselmann. A total of 54 films were submitted.

The award sponsor Günter Rohrbach, 93, is one of the most successful filmmakers in Germany. Among other things, he produced “Das Boot”, “Schtonk!” and the television series “Berlin Alexanderplatz”.
