On Tuesday, ZDF released a statement about the incident. “After a bout of weakness in the ‘heute journal’, Gundula Gause is feeling better again. A medical examination revealed that there was no serious cause for the sudden dizziness,” it said the station’s website. “It was probably an orthostatic collapse (volatile circulatory weakness, note),” ZDF quoted Gause as saying. “Nausea, headaches, dizziness – not eating enough, not drinking enough… and I thought I could do it.”
