Grünwalder waterworks should move to Bergheimstraße – district of Munich

The new company headquarters of the municipal waterworks in Grünwald is to be built on a previously undeveloped plot of land at Bergheimstraße 4. An office building with an underground car park and parking spaces is to be built there. The municipal council has now publicly and unanimously confirmed this decision, which had already been approved in a closed meeting in November 2022. Additional rooms could possibly be created in the building for other municipal departments that are currently outsourced from the town hall, such as the cultural office or parts of the financial administration. It remains to be seen to what extent the wishes expressed by Bettina Schreyer (Greens) and Achim Zeppenfeld (SPD) in terms of “ecological construction” or “timber construction” can be implemented. Voices from the CSU emphasized that the focus must be on profitability, Alexander Steininger, himself an architect, pointed out that wood as a building material is currently very expensive.
