Grand Hôtel du Louvre in Paris: Where the first impressionists lived. – Trip

Jules Verne, Victor Hugo, Émile Zola and the painter Camille Pissarro: they all loved the luxury of the hotel and the unique view of the streets of Paris. You can still feel the flair of yesteryear today. A homage to impressionism and the city’s first grand hotel.

“I found a room in the Grand Hôtel du Louvre,” Camille Pissarro mentioned in a letter in 1897. The impressionist begins to rave: “With a great view of the Avenue de l’Opéra and the corner of the square from the Palais-Royal. That’s very nice to paint!”
