A wheelchair ride, a chat or a parlor game are some of the social activities that many older people living alone miss out on. The Malteser relief service in Gräfelfing is looking for volunteers to take on such a visiting service. Seniors are visited at home or in nursing homes, one or two hours of time per week is sufficient.
During the pandemic, when there were strict contact restrictions, some volunteers from the visiting service dropped out, the Malteser said. Now, due to many requests from elderly people in need, new helpers are being sought. Volunteers receive an introduction and a first aid course.
