The goal is the traffic light coalition: The Greens have proposed to the FDP that they start explorations together with the SPD. There should be no parallel soundings with the Union – but the Greens did not rule out a Jamaica coalition.
The Greens want to enter into three-way exploratory talks with the SPD and FDP. Party leader Annalena Baerbock said that was suggested to the FDP. Germany is facing major challenges that need to be tackled quickly, which is why the Greens are convinced “that this country cannot afford a long hangover.”

With the SPD and FDP, however, the greatest overlaps in terms of content are conceivable. This applies above all to the area of social policy. “Conceivable, however, expressly means that the biscuit is a long way from being eaten.” There are significant vacancies and differences, this affects both the Greens and FDP as well as the Greens and the SPD.
No timeframe
He did not give a specific time frame for explorations about a traffic light coalition. In the end, the parties have to make a political decision as to whether or not to continue.
The Greens were now waiting to see how the FDP would position itself on the proposal. The liberals want to speak publicly in the morning.
After the federal election, the Greens and the FDP first explored possible compromise lines with each other and then separately with the SPD as well as with the CDU and CSU.
