Götz Otto in the “crime scene”: This man already fought against James Bond

9.36 million viewers saw the current “Tatort” episode from Franconia on Sunday evening. In it, Götz Otto convinced as an ice-cold villain. Born in Offenbach, he played a Nuremberg freight forwarder who orders a murder so that he can continue doing business. Otto embodied the man as a father without empathy, who doesn’t seem to get a sleepless night from the cruel act and who laughs arrogantly in the police officers’ faces during interrogation.

It was a prime role for Götz Otto, who became world famous in 1997 as the villain in James Bond. The fact that the 54-year-old is booked as a bully so often doesn’t bother him: “I used to resist it and wished to get other roles,” he recently told the DPA. “But now that doesn’t bother me at all. On the contrary. Sometimes they are very interesting characters.”
